As a Cloud Operations Engineer at our client, one of your main goals is to get and keep our client’s tailor-made cloud solutions (services and applications) up-and-running. You work directly for our client’s customers in projects to build and operate their solutions, but also make sure our client’s existing customer solutions keep running.

As a Cloud Engineer you are part of our client’s Global Development Services team that is responsible for all tailor-made solutions, but are also closely linked to the Cloud Operations team that is responsible for our client’s standard cloud products.

Responsibilities and challenges

As an experienced Cloud Operations Engineer, you are responsible for the security, availability, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response and capacity planning of one or more cloud solutions (Azure). You continuously improve the infrastructure for better scalability, security and fault tolerance. To do this you create super clean, well structured, performant deployment, monitoring, and application management scripts. You also enable rapid deployment of new features with the necessary safeguards to maintain stability, high availability, and performance together with your colleagues from your Devops team(s).

You train and coach junior Cloud Operations Engineers and get them to the next level. Next to that, you know how to design a cloud environment and are able to explain this to the customer, in layman’s terms.

Job Requirements

You have 5+ years of relevant working experience

You embrace the DevOps culture and automating is your second nature

You have the following technical experience:

  • Containerization (e.g. Kubernetes)
  • Programming or scripting (e.g. PowerShell/Python)
  • Microsoft Azure and familiar with Microsoft tooling (.NET)
  • Continuous integration and continuous delivery practices using Jenkins and/or Azure DevOps including ARM templating
  • Preferably Unix/Linux
  • Preferably database management / tuning

You are inquisitive, creative and enthusiastic about sharing your ideas and know-how

Being conscientious and staying abreast of new developments is your cup of tea

You don’t mind being on-call on a regular basis

You have an IT-related Bachelor or Master degree

Willingness to take part in on-call duties to support our customers 24/7 (approx. 8 weeks per year). Of course you will be generously compensated
